Honey to the Bee (Bill/Neville, R-ish)

Title: Honey To The Bee
Author: [info]ragdoll
Characters: Bill Weasley/Neville Longbottom
Rating: Hard R
Warnings: frottage, drunk!sex (sort of), slash, a bit of Fleur-bashing
Themes/kinks chosen: costumes, frottage, slash
Word Count: 2275
Summary: When Neville was forced to attend the Ministry's Fancy Dress ball, the last thing he expected was to end being pulled by another man, least of all Ron Weasley's eldest brother. After all; who'd ever want to snog a grown man dressed as a daisy?
Author's notes: Thanks to [info]r_grayjoy for the support, the betaing and the inspiration for the story in the first place.

Honey to the bee, that's you for me  )

[info]florahart

Ficlet: "Twice as Nice" (Kirk/McCoy/Spock, entirely NC17)

Fic for exchange: making me seriously crazy with just the very last little bit of it resisting like I'm asking it to give me all its candy and it's a two-year-old with a sugar fetish and a high degree of fondness for the word no.

Rar.

However, here, let me give you a ficlet from the kink meme from a few days ago. :D

Title: Twice as Nice
Words: ~675
Pairing: Kirk/McCoy/Spock
Warnings: none, I think.
A/N: For this prompt (Kirk/McCoy/Spock DP, bottom McCoy making whimpering sounds). As you might find unsurprising for a kink meme fill, this is straight-up porn.

Twice as Nice )

Monday, Monday

The next-to-last Monday of the semester, woo hoo! Taught, had a couple of students come by during office hours, distributed cranberry bread, did some grading (have more to do tomorrow though). Came home and did financial stuff - bill-paying etc. - then finished making gumbo and rice for dinner, and since then have been dinking around mostly.

I'm getting excited for the beginning of the posting whirlwind, despite knowing that there's no way on earth I can read anything like all the fic I'd like to; heck, I have probably 30+ fics open in tabs already. Have started on my [info]3fan_holidays ficlet, have about 4 other drabbles to write, plus my Yuletide fic. SO wanted to know what I was working on tonight, and when I told him I was transcribing something and that it was schmoop, not porn, he wanted a definition for schmoop. The best I could come up with was, "like a Hallmark card." *headdesk*

Re: the filtered post from earlier, SO and I are thinking that Juno may not like walking in early-midafternoon. She tends to snooze then, if left to her own devices. So he's going to try walking her earlier, in the morning, on Wednesday and see if she has more energy then. (I usually walk her in the morning.)

Help Us (and the AO3) Grow!

Open Beta for the Archive of Our Own is entering its third week of booming growth, and we're all very excited by the positive, thoughtful, and constructive feedback we've been receiving from all of the new users. We've also been incredibly gratified by the groundswell of excited volunteers, eager to help us to make the Archive even better!

Happily, volunteer opportunities abound - particularly filling jobs in the infrastructure supporting the AO3. Organizing and communicating with our new volunteers is how our Volunteers & Recruiting Committee makes all our other work possible. Our Financial Committee makes sure the bills get paid, assuring a secure, stable home for all of that work. Both are vital to AO3 growth and sustainability.

If you're inspired by the AO3 project, and are moved to help us make it better, you may have just the sort of enthusiasm we can use! Volunteering in other capacities doesn't mean you can't also test code (banging on new features) or wrangle tags (helping to improve searchability) - many of us do both. Please take a look at the opportunities listed in our Willing to Serve post and help us to build stronger support for the AO3 by strengthening our organization. Send us a message to volunteer or to find out more!

As always, if you don't have the time or energy, but feel the impulse to be a part of what we're accomplishing, you can donate in support of our servers and our continued self-sufficiency - or just help spread the word to your friends and fannish communities!

Kinky Kristmas Begins Tomorrow!

Posting for this year's Kinky Kristmas celebration begins tomorrow at noon U.S. Eastern time! We've received a ton of fantastic fic and art from both Daily Deviant members and watchers, and we're itching to show it off.

Behind the cut you'll find advertising banners for Kinky Kristmas. Feel free to use them and remind your f-lists to watch us throughout December. We've seen the pieces we'll be posting over the next month, and we can assure you that Daily Deviant is the place to be this holiday season!

Lots more behind the cut! )

All of that having been said, we'd like to add: No matter what fests you watch and participate in this year, be sure to take a few moments to express your enjoyment of the works you view and read. Without the wonderful authors and artists, there would be no fandom as we know it. ♥

EXTRA LONG: Light as Iron, Singed as Pearl (H/D, NC-17)

Title: Light as Iron, Singed as Pearl
Author: [info]snegurochka_lee
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~13,800
Warnings: Dom/sub. Bondage. EWE.
Summary: The owner of the elite BDSM club M. had not gained his reputation as the most coveted Dominant on the scene by taking on just any riff-raff submissive who asked. It would take an unexpected letter to convince him to accept a new client, but it might turn out to be the biggest mistake he ever made.
Notes: Written for [info]hd_career_fair last month for this prompt. "Thank you" does not begin to cover my gratitude to the divine [info]marguerite_26, whose handholding, beta work and modly prodding went well beyond the call of duty.

Humph

Did grocery shopping, finished LIS reading, baked 28 mini loaves cranberry-nut bread, talked w/ my mom, checked work & school emails.

Am grumpy for no discernible reason, unless maybe PMS. Or not wanting to have the last couple of weeks of the semester still to go. Perhaps I should go to bed early?

[info]elfflame

Good things post

So that I can get out of the snarky attitude that suddenly hit about an hour ago...

1) Another NaNo down, with the epilogue left to go.

2) [info]wolfish_cat should be back this week. *clings to her*

3) Another season of Merlin is likely.

4) 1/2 of the 2 most stressful holidays is dealt with.

5) All my writing for the next month is done!
5.1) Firefox tabs all cleared away for a new gathering of tabs starting the first
5.2) Reading list -
* HD_Holidays
* Snapelyholidays
* [info]daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas
* [info]lupin_snape's Snupin Santa
* Camelot Solstice
* Harry_Holidays
* HP_Yule_Balls
(there are probably more as well, but OMG, isn't that enough?)

Random # 15

☞ It's been a while. I'm feeling a bit better now, but the last weeks were rough. My depression was really bad, I had the first full-on panic attack in years and my phobias acted up. *sigh* I'm still not entirely back to my normal medium depressed state. I didn't get much writing done and there are still 05:04:47 left. No idea how much I'll write today and tomorrow.

☞ I actually did work on my Merlin fic for the first time in months. I realised it sucked and that it needs a major rework. Spoilers for recent episodes )

☞ I think I finally found out why disaster films don't work for me. It's not the wildly improbable natural catastrophes, because those aren't necessarily improbable at all, it's the wildly improbable ways in which humans conquer nature and stop the catastrophes. More often than not by using a lot of explosives. I would like them if they showed humans surviving the catastrophe, I wouldn't mind if they showed humans fighting to survive and dying (The Day After Tomorrow I liked, despite the unrealistic premise). I do mind the age old "conquering the wilderness" trope that crops up again and again. It's not only inacurate, it also reminds me of how humans treat their environment in other situations.

☞ Yuletide: I really hope my recipient will like my story, since I haven't written for the fandom before and couldn't research as much as I would have liked to. It also won't be as long and will end rather abruptly. But I'm confident because we seem to like similar stories and share a few quirks, despite not having any non-Yuletide fandoms in common. Now I only have to find a competent beta and brit-picker who knows the fandom. Or someone who can tell me if the story works once I've typed it up, at least. (Why yes, I still use pen and paper for writing.)

Stuff of a stufflike stuffness

As we say in these parts. Another pretty mellow day; got up late, and decided not to grocery shop today since we had sufficient milk etc. to hold us till tomorrow, and fridge space was still at a premium with various leftovers occupying it. (We ate up a few things for dinner tonight.) Ran an errand or two, though, and have done almost all the LIS reading (1.5 more chapters to go) and posted in discussion for one class. Also hung out in the front yard with SO and the neighbors for a while.

Tomorrow I'll grocery shop, then make a whole lot of cranberry nut bread mini-loaves for gifting, and make mashed potatoes for dinner with leftover turkey & gravy and more leftover veggies. Turkey Sun/Tues/Thurs, gumbo Mon/Wed/Fri, I think. Easy. Will just need to make more veg eventually. We're going to throw a little holiday party in a couple of weeks and I'm starting to plot food for that.

Fic-stuff: [info]alisanne is modding [info]adventdrabbles at IJ again this year; she posts a daily prompt from December 1-24, but it's not required to use it, and ficlets as well as drabbles are welcome, in any fandom. [info]beren_writes mods [info]adventdrabbles at LJ, although doesn't do the prompts.

Less than 2 weeks until [info]3fan_holidays ficlets are due, and I put up the header template post for that today. And [info]hd_holidays starts posting Tuesday, as will [info]daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas, and I believe also [info]happy_trekmas. Whew - those are just the ones I'm participating in, too, and there are plenty of other fests kicking off shortly as well.

Wow

Did online holiday shopping tonight too. Now have only a couple of minor gifts yet to find/buy, plus stocking stuff, plus sew waistcoat for SO (which won't happen till the semester is over, but also doesn't have to be shipped anywhere). And I think he's decided on and possibly ordered something for me already. So basically - we are done with gift organizing. Wow. Now, whether we can get in gear with cards/letter remains to be seen.

It is, however, nearly 1 am so I think I'd better head for bed!
